Happy Halloween...For Realz!

My favorite holiday is finally upon us! Happy Halloween, folks. I've had a lot going on this week so I didn't finish the sketch I had planned for today. So I thought I'd post the Jack o' Lanterns Suzanne and I did. We haven't done this in about fifteen years but I was really in the mood this year.

Suze is more adventurous than I am and really went for the gusto with her Jolly Roger:

I'm more of a traditionalist and stuck with the old school triangle face. This sucker was huge. Suzanne picked me up a pumpkin that's at least a foot-and-a-half tall. Now I ask you, would you dare approach this guy? Even for candy?

Last year was the most miserable Halloween I've ever experienced so, this year, I wanted to go all-out. Suzanne's entire family is up for a visit and we've got a big day planned tomorrow. We got our nephew a Clone Trooper costume to wear, complete with blaster and we've been duking it out all night. I've been chasing him around the house with the phaser my friend Paul got me for my birthday. It's the really good one that makes the sounds, lights up and separates the Phaser 1 from Phaser 2. We're taking him and my niece over to Paul's house tomorrow night because we get absolutely zero kids in our neighborhood while Paul's neighborhood is overrun each year with trick-or-treaters. So we're going to go hang out and hand out candy while our niece and nephew go beg for goodies with the rest of the costumed kiddies. I'm really looking forward to it. Besides, Ricky is HUGE into Star Wars right now and Paul is the biggest Star Wars fan in the world. (Sorry Christian.) And Ricky has really taken to him. It doesn't hurt that he has a home theater with a a screen the size of Nebraska and puts on ATTACK OF THE CLONES whenever we bring over the kids.

I hope everybody has a great Halloween. I know I will. For the next four months, at least.

I work tomorrow. But I might get to see what kind goofy costumes employees come in wearing. I was thinking of watching An American Werewolf in London tonight but I might save it for tomorrow night.

I gotta find time tomorrow to watch Lady in White...man, haven't even touched half the movies I wanted to get to...either overworked or too tired...taking the little ones out to eat tomorrow in full garb, and then a night out for 2 hours of TrT...which sucks. I remember the good ole days when it seemed we covered the entire town and parts of the one next to us, and having infinite time to do such. We need the good ole Halloween days back!

Have a Happy Halloween everyone!

Great pumkins! You're sure to attract the attention of the Great Pumkin! :)

I'm going to watch the Abominable Dr. Phibes tonight.

Have a great time, Matt!!!

We are at my daughter Joanne's house tomorrow evening, fancy dress of course.

No prizes for what I'll be going as...
;D

Tonight it will be answering the door to all the kids in the neighbourhood and then maybe a DVD unless there is a good Halloween special on...

Best Wishes from across the pond,

Tim...

Nicely done on the pumpkins, Mafus. We carved one up for Lilah last night and she tried eating the cut out pieces after we warned her not to. The pics will surface shortly as her reaction was quite hilarious.

And I'm not hurt about the Star Wars thing. I know I'm not the biggest fan around. (Sniff. Sniff. Weep.)

Awesome pumpkins Matt & Suzanne. We had a pretty good Halloween. Our apartment complex had a Halloween party for the kids and we brought candy to that. And the kids got to hit a pinata which they liked and I got lots of pictures. This was the first one since Lexie has been big enough we didn't do the door-to-door trick-or-treating at all. One year we missed Halloween because of a skating competition but folks were nice enough to still hand out candy on actual Halloween when we got back on Sunday.

Those pumpkins are a whole lot better than I can do. I always get the hardest durn things to carve. I leave to the people that have arm strength. I'm a weakling.

Nice job.

LOVE yours though!!! both you and suzanne did fantastic jobs on your jackos and i'm mighty impressed. woulda loved to see some scale reference with yours so we could see what a monster it was...like here is my enormous pumpkin looming large over the statue of liberty...
watched some great pumpkin carving on the food network the other night...that was cool.

Great Pumpkins Charlie Bro . . . I mean Matt and Suzanne.

We had a great Halloween this year. Three parties and plenty of kids came by for candy.
