R.I.P. Al Williamson

Another giant gone. He really was one of the greats. Especially his work for the old black and white horror mags published by Warren.

I've got an issue of Classic Star Wars: Han Solo at Star's End, which features Al's art. It's cool.

Al Williamson had major talent. It's sad to see that we won't see more of him and that talent.

That’s f*$&%d!

All the heroes of my youth are dropping one by one. One of the few Marvel jobs I did was inked by Al. Simply one of the greats and always bought a lot to the table no matter what the job.

Learn more about legendary comics artist Al Williamson in this Mr. Media interview with his friend and artist Mark Schultz, in which he discusses the book Al Williamson’s Flash Gordon: A Lifelong Vision of the Heroic.

He was a master storyteller as well as a great technical artist. I grew up looking at his art. His Flash Gordon strip was amazing.
