We're Off!

We're on our way to Charlotte for the Heroes Convention so I have to keep this brief. I wanted to post the signing schedule at the Mike Wieringo Scholarship booth. I put this together kind of late so it may be subject to change.

SATURDAY

11-12 Mark Waid

1:00-2:00 Cully Hamner

2:00-3:00 Rich Faber & Scott Sava

4:00-5:00 Randy Green & Richard Case

SUNDAY

11:00-12:00 Jeff Parker

1:00-2:00 Erik Larsen

Those of you coming to Heroes, have a safe trip and I'll see you there. If you can't make it, I'll try to post a report next week with pictures.

Day One of Heroes Con was great. I got there later than I'd planned, but it couldn't be helped. I got to stop by and say hi to Matt and Todd and Craig and Suzanne. Matt -- ya married good, bud.

See you guys again tomorrow!

Day two was fun! Spent lots of money. Met lots of people. Matt was one of the guests in the Hero Initiative signing and he looked pretty good sitting there with Todd and Mark and the others. I bet your hand is tired though.

"Mafus -- Mafus -- Mafus -- Mafus -- Mafus -- Mafus -- Mafus -- Mafus -- Mafus -- Mafus -- Mafus..."

It was a looong line. :)

Day three is long over and I imagine Matt is exhausted. I had a good time. I hope you did too, Matt.

One of my favorite things to do at the Con is to stand unobtrusively nearby and watch the artists work. It's more fun if I can do it without them noticing because if they see you, it sort of breaks their focus. I had the pleasure of watching Matt work on a particular commission this weekend.

When I put a pencil on a piece of Bristol board, I have no idea where it's going to go or what it's going to do. Matt worked with an economy of movement that was amazing to watch. The finished drawing was dynamic and beautiful. (No, I didn't get to see the whole process -- just bits and pieces, but I did get to see the completed work!)

Anyway, thanks for coming to Charlotte, Matt. I hope to see you here next year!

Just wanted to say thank you for letting me sign and hang out and share stories about Mike on Saturday.
I really appreciate it.
